Learning becomes more useful when you pause long enough to notice what you understood, what helped, and what still needs attention. This short planner is designed to help you turn a learning experience into a clearer next step.

1. Pause — What did I learn?

Write down the most important idea, skill or discovery from what you studied or practised.

Ask yourself: If I had to explain this to someone in one or two sentences, what would I say?

2. Notice — What helped me understand?

Think about what made the learning easier or clearer.

• A teacher’s explanation

• An example or demonstration

• Practising it myself

• Talking it through with someone

• Drawing, mapping or visualising it

• Making a mistake and correcting it

Ask yourself: Which way of learning helped me most today?

3. Check — Where am I still unsure?

Learning is not complete just because a task is finished. Notice what still feels confusing, incomplete or difficult.

Ask yourself: What question would I ask if I could get help right now?

4. Connect — Where does this fit?

Try to connect the learning with something you already know, another subject, a real-life situation or a future goal.

Try: “This connects with ______ because ______.”

5. Plan — What is my next step?

Choose one small action that will move your learning forward.

• Review one difficult idea

• Practise one more example

• Ask one specific question

• Explain the idea to someone else

• Apply it in a new situation

Keep the next step small enough that you can actually do it.

Try this today

After your next study session, spend five minutes answering these four prompts:

• What did I understand?

• What helped me understand it?

• What am I still unsure about?

• What will I do next?

LQ Reflection: Strong learners do more than complete tasks. They notice how they learn, recognise what they need, and choose their next step with greater awareness.
